In our experience, children love copying mummy and daddy in the kitchen when it comes to cooking and preparing food. It’s great to encourage their interest in it, but the kitchen obviously isn’t the safest place in the house, with many sharp, hot and heavy objects that pose potential hazards. Our play food is an ideal way for children to have fun pretending to be a chef outside of the kitchen.

Play Kitchen

The ideal compromise is to give little ones their own play kitchen, allowing them to have fun with food toys in their own space that’s sure to inspire them. These and our other kitchen toys provide hours of role playing fun and games.

High Tea Shape SorterWhen the play kitchen is all sorted, children can stock their cupboards with mountains of play food. Whether they like the look of sweet or savoury treats, we have a huge range of toy food that’s sure to fuel their imagination with lots of creative ideas. There are fake cakes, wooden fruit and vegetables, felt sandwiches, pretend ice lollies and so much more in our vast play food pantry. It’s hard to know where to begin!

Top off their food role play with a lesson in where all of the household supplies come from. We have several play shops and shopping toys that sit beautifully alongside any one of our play kitchens. Take a stroll down to the BRIGHTMINDS market and you’ll find the Pitta Pockets with great healthy play food combinations and the Market Crates filled with fresh produce fruit and veg for your five a day message.
